Children celebrate Holi festival

Holi festival

Millions of people in India have been taking part in a colourful festival to celebrate the start of spring.

Holi is known as the festival of colours as one of the main traditions involves everyone throwing bright paint powders, called gulal, at each other.

Adults tend to rub the multicoloured powders into their friends' faces to wish each other a happy Holi.

But children mix the powder with water and use giant water pistols to soak their friends with the bright paints.
