A husky dog that got its head stuck in a plant pot has been freed with help from an animal rescue specialist.

Scarlet had been playing with a pebble when the stone dropped into the pot. Anxious to get it back, she put her head inside and got it stuck.

Her worried owner called out the Hampshire fire service after she was unable to ease the pot off Scarlet.

Experts managed to gently crack it and release the confused canine who was quickly back on her feet again.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service' s Anton Phillips said: "This was quite an unusual call. The owner did a great job in keeping Scarlet as calm as possible before I got there.

"Scarlet was completely unharmed in the incident and was immediately back to her old self."
