'Wrong Trainers' up for top award

Children featured in The Wrong Trainers

Newsround's special programme on childhood poverty has been nominated for a top telly award.

The Wrong Trainers is in the running for a Royal Television Society award for the best children's programme.

The Wrong Trainers used animation to tell the real-life stories of six children who live in poverty and show the problems they face in their lives.

It's up against Evacuation and Charlie and Lola: Welcome to Lolaland. The winners will be announced on 13 March.

Elsewhere, Jackanory: Muddle Earth, That Summer Day and Young Dracula are all on the shortlist for the top children's drama.
