Hollywood gets set for the Oscars

An Oscar statue is covered with plastic to keep it looking nice for the ceremony

Hollywood is getting ready for its biggest night of the year when it will announce who has won an Oscar.

Loads of top celebs will be getting all dressed up to strut up the red carpet in Los Angeles on Sunday.

This year will be the 79th time the ceremony has taken place and films including Happy Feet, Monster House and Cars are all up for a prize.

Dreamgirls is also nominated, while Leonardo DiCaprio and Will Smith are in the running for best actor.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest could also be rewarded, with nominations for visual effects and art direction among other categories.

The ceremony will be beamed live from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood across the world from 1am on Monday morning - which is 5pm on Sunday in America.
