Why is Prince Harry an important Royal?

Graphic to show the royal family tree

Prince Harry has been fighting in Afghanistan with the Army, but why is he such an important member of the Royal Family?

  • Harry is the Queen's grandson and is one of the most senior Royals.

  • After the Queen, her son Prince Charles is the most senior, because he'll become king when the Queen dies.

  • Then comes Charles's son Prince William, who'll be king after him.

  • And at the moment Prince Harry - who is William's younger brother - would be next in line.

  • But that would change if William were to have children.
