Single review: Jessica Simpson - A Public Affair

Jessica Simpson

Release date

Download - 29 January; CD single - 5 February

The style

This is a light and bouncy pop song from Jessica's fifth album.

It's perfectly suited for your dancing feet and the opportunity was not missed in the funky video where Jessica and showbiz friends are at a roller-skating disco.

The words

Jessica Simpson
Film star and singer Jessica Simpson
Jessica is singing about a big girl's night out - she just wants to start dancing and forget about all the worries in the world.

"Do what you wanna do," sings Jessica, "tonight the world does not exist. Move how you wanna move, all my girls work it out like this."

Will you still be humming it next week?

The song is not fantastic, but it's not that bad either.

It's sure to cheer you up and is a reasonable try at making a fun party tune.

Will it make the charts?

Jessica has already had a handful of hits and her profile and fan base is big enough for more chart success.

But there are better things to come with tracks like You Spin Me Round, BOY and Swing With Me which are all on her new album released on 5 February.
