Duck survives being shot

A duck

An amazing duck is still in quacking health even though it was shot and then kept in a fridge for two days.

A hunter in the US state of Florida shot the duck in the wing and leg and thinking he'd killed it took it home and put in the fridge.

But his wife was left in a flap when she opened the fridge and saw the bird raise its head towards her.

The duck is now being looked after by experts who think it's got a pretty good chance of surviving.

But they're not so sure it will ever be well enough to be released back into the wild.

Vet David Hale said: "This is an extremely tough duck with a lot of spirit to live. This shows how tough and adaptable wildlife are."
