More than 100 dead in Iraq bomb

An injured boy is taken to hospital

A deadly truck bombing in a busy market in northern Iraq has killed 105 people and injured about 240, police say.

The morning blast destroyed the market in the small town of Amirli, killing many people instantly and trapping dozens among the rubble.

It's thought to be the worst single attack in Iraq since April.

Rescuers worked frantically to get the injured to hospitals, but the nearest medical centre to the blast site was some 45km away.

In another attack, 22 people were killed, when a bomber targeted a cafe in Diyala, close to the border of Iran.

Iraq has been an incredibly dangerous place since the war four years ago.

It's because not everyone agrees with the way the country is being run.

Iraq is made up of a large amount of different peoples, all with separate cultures, histories and religions.
