The Winter Olympics

The Winter Olympics are held every four years, and give countries a chance to show off their abilities in winter sports like skiing, ice-skating, curling and snowboarding.

Norway and Germany have dominated the top of the medal tables at recent Games, unlike the Summer Olympics where the US and China are more successful.

Great Britain hasn't done too well at the Games, winning just 21 medals since the Winter Olympics began in 1924.
