Beating bullying

Samara has a disability called cerebral palsy, which means she has one leg shorter than the other. It's led to her being bullied.

Samara talked to the woman in charge of the anti-bullying policy in her area. She said that young people should visit schools to try to make sure the anti-bullying policies work.

If you are being bullied, here are some tips to make things a little easier:

  • Tell someone you trust like a parent, teacher or friend. You will feel better and you can think of ways to beat the bully together

  • If you're to scared to tell anyone you can always write a note to someone and say how you are feeling. Also, keep a diary of what kind of bullying is happening and when it is happening

  • Try to stay in safe areas of the school at break and lunchtime where there are plenty of other people

  • Remember you can always call ChildLine on 0800 1111 which is a free advice line

  • Or you can call Kidscape on 020 7730 3300 - although the call is not free you can get free advice and booklets from them
