I'm helping people over half term

Press Packer Abie is using her week off this half term to help other people.

In the Junior Wardens scheme, kids get to clean up the community as well as having fun.

She'll keep us updated every day this week.

"It might not seem like a fun way to spend your half term, but I'm going to be getting really messy this week.

I'll be picking up litter, scrubbing walls and planting flowers in the coming week.

Lots of other kids are taking part, aged from eight to 15.

Dirty work

We started today by cleaning up a local park.

It was a bit smelly, and I picked up loads of litter - crisp wrappers, plastic bags and drinks cans.

But afterwards I felt brilliant. I know I'm doing good for my community.

I reckon everyone should try it out - and we spend the rest of the day having a lot of fun.

Come back tomorrow to find out what I've been up to."

Abie, 9, Doncaster

Why don't you write us a Press Pack report - and get it published on the site?!

It can be about anything that's happened in your local area - or your views on the news.
