Connie Fisher will be singing on stage in top musical The Sound of Music after winning a TV talent show.
The 23-year-old beat Helena Blackman in the final of the BBC's How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? show, after more than two million people voted.
Connie has won a six-month role in the musical which starts in London in November, as the lead character Maria.
Connie said: "I look forward to every performance that I give you. Thank you for making my dreams come true."
Earlier in the evening, Siobhan Dillon, one of three remaining hopefuls left on the show, was voted off.
Thousands of hopefuls entered the show, with 10 winning through to the TV shows that have now picked a winner.
There have been reports in some newspapers that another more experienced actress will share the role with Connie.
