School has been given top marks by UK kids and celebs have been given the thumbs down in a survey of children.

More than 1,000 kids between the ages of eight and 14 were asked a number of questions about living in Britain.

The survey found that nine out of 10 children thought they got a good education, and seven out of 10 said we were too obsessed by celebrities.

There was bad news for Prime Minister Tony Blair too, with only six out of 10 kids saying he's doing a good job.

What the survey says
British sprinter Harry Akine-Aryeetey
89% proud to be British
76% worried about crime
40% think Prime Minister Tony Blair does a good job
20% say war in Iraq was right
70% say we're too obsessed with celebs

The survey was organised by the weekly newspaper for children First News.

The survey also found that almost nine out of 10 of the children asked - 89% - said they were proud to be British.

And despite lots of warnings and news stories about how unhealthy kids are, many of those surveyed didn't agree.

Eight of 10 said they had a healthy diet, while 72% said they thought they got enough exercise.
