Bullies pick on monkey SpongeBob

SpongeBob
As if getting stolen from a zoo wasn't enough of an ordeal for SpongeBob the monkey, the poor creature has been forced out of his home by bullies.

SpongeBob - a Bolivian squirrel monkey - was missing from Chessington World of Adventures in Surrey for three days.

When he came home, the female monkeys he shared with turned against him, biting and screaming when he came near.

Now he's been moved to Battersea Park Zoo in London, where it's hoped he'll get on better with his new friends.

SpongeBob was spotted playing with children on a housing estate in south London after he disappeared in July. He was returned to Chessington.

A man has been accused of stealing the monkey. He was set to appear in court on Thursday.

Spongebob has been "writing" a blog about his experiences.

It says he hopes to find a girlfriend at his new home.

"I have to turn on the charm and start again," says SpongeBob's blog.
