Princess Beatrice is celebrating her 18th birthday on Tuesday, and says she wants to follow her mum's example.
She was speaking at a hospital ward for young people with cancer, and said it was "exciting" being in public as it allowed her to help more people.
Beatrice celebrated her birthday with a big fancy dress party a few weeks ago, with a theme of the year 1888.
That theme was picked because Beatrice was born at an unusual moment; 8.18pm on 8 August 1988, or 8/8/1988.
She visited the hospital ward in July and met patients for an hour. Afterwards she said: "Meeting these people I feel that I've met new friends."

She also said about her mum, the Duchess of York: "She is the best advice giver I could possibly ever wish for. She leads by example, and her behaviour is kind of one that I would really like to follow."
Beatrice also said she hoped people wouldn't be scared of her just because she is member of the royal family.
She said: "Maybe before they meet me they might be a bit scared but once they find out that I'm really just a normal [person]... once they find out that I'm just me, then it should make it easier."
