Three UK soldiers have been killed and another seriously hurt after a vehicle patrol was attacked in Afghanistan.
The attack happened in the north of Helmand province on Tuesday, the Ministry of Defence has said.
This attack means that a total of nine British soldiers have been killed in action in Afghanistan this year.
The incident comes a day after British and Canadian led forces took over military activities in the area from the US troops who had been in charge.
Nearly 4,000 UK troops are in Afghanistan at the moment, with most of them in Helmand as part of the Nato-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).
UK troops are being led from Camp Bastion, near the provincial capital Lashkar Gah.
