Fur protesters confront Beyonce

Beyonce Knowles
Singer Beyonce Knowles has been asked by anti-fur protesters why she uses animal fur in her clothing line.

Two members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals won a dinner date with Beyonce, but were thrown out when they asked about why she wore fur.

The Peta members had secretly entered an auction for a meal with the star.

The singer remained silent while her sister and mother answered their questions, before the activists were asked to leave the New York restaurant.

During the meal, they also tried to use a portable DVD player to show Beyonce footage of animals being killed for their fur.

A spokesman said Beyonce had no comment on the incident.

The opportunity to eat with the singer was offered by the VH1 music channel, as part of an auction which would benefit its Save the Music Foundation.
