England set for World Cup flight

England fly out to Germany for the World Cup on Monday, in a plane named especially for the occasion.

The Pride of Britain will carry the 23-man squad from Luton to Karlsruhe, near Baden Baden where the team will stay between games in Germany.

Injured Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney will be on the plane, as will reserve forward Jermain Defoe.

England's World Cup campaign begins on Saturday when they play their first Group B game against Paraguay.

The team will arrive in Germany fresh from a big 6-0 win in their last warm-up game, against Jamaica on Saturday.

Rooney's likely replacement Peter Crouch bagged a hat-trick in that match, and missed a penalty as well.

On Wednesday England may find out if Rooney will be able to play any part in the tournament when he has another scan on his injured foot.
