Saudi Arabia 0-1 Spain: Friday, 23 June
The Saudi Arabia team played a very strong match against Spain and only lost by one goal.
I think it was very interesting game and they performed well.
The defence was very tight although there were lots of chances, for example we should have had two penalties but somehow the referee did not pay attention to them!
Overall I think there was a slight improvement and progress for the Saudi team during this game and really they should have maintained it in the previous matches.
Unfortunately with this result the Saudi team will not go any further in the World Cup finals.
Saudi Arabia 0-4 Ukraine: Monday, 19 June
We were disappointed with the Saudi team's weak play and lost chances. The players seemed nervous and it affected their normal standard. The first goal lowered their morale.
We will hopefully play better in the next game against Spain, although we were beaten by the Ukraine 4-0!
Overall, this was the worst game for the Saudi team in the 2006 World Cup and we hope to see no more such bad play!
I think that the coach should tighten the defence in order to stop lots of goals against us. After all, we wish the Saudi team will perform better in their next game with Spain and avoid mistakes.
Saudi Arabia 2-2 Tunisia: Wednesday, 14 June
Although our first game ended in a draw, it was challenging as Tunisia are the African champions.
The Saudi team performed very well but only in the second half. They were about to win but, at the very last minute, Tunisia was able to score the second goal that resulted in equalizing with the Saudi team.
Overall, they performed alright but I think they could have avoided the last minute goal by tightening the defence.
They now have to try harder for the next two matches but it will be challenging.
Tournament preview
What's the atmosphere like in Saudi Arabia?
I think the Saudi national team is a good candidate for the 2006 World Cup tournament in Germany. The team has many talented players and they have been prepared and are being trained well for this World Cup by the Brazilian coach, Bakkitta.
The Saudi team has won the Asian Cup three times! And this is now the third time they are going to the World Cup finals. The team has a player that has international experience as Sami Al-Jabir joined a British team for a year. He is a very experienced striker.
I wish the Saudi team all the best and lots of success!
