Ivory Coast 1-2 Holland: Friday, 16 June

I watched the match at a friend's house and we cheered all the way through.

Even though Ivory Coast eventually lost the game, they played brilliantly, and without any doubt the man of the match was Bakary Kone.

We've accepted that the Ivory Coast will be knocked out in the first round but we will be leaving with our heads held high.

I'm proud of my team, they are all heroes!!!

Ivory Coast 1-2 Argentina: Saturday, 10 June

The Ivory Coast played their first match against Argentina in the World Cup.

Although we lost the match 2-1, our spirits are still high.

We know that Argentina are a strong team, and our players put up a good fight.

We still think we can beat the other two teams in the group and get through to the next round.

Tournament preview

What's the atmosphere like in the Ivory Coast?

Everyone in the Ivory Coast is talking about the World Cup. For the past few years the country has been divided in half by the war, but everyone is now supporting the national team.

This is the first time that the team have got to the World Cup finals and many people think we are outsiders, but I think we've got a good chance. We have a young and energetic team. And 16 of the 26 players sent to Germany play for European club sides.

We won the African Cup in 1992 and I think we are still the best team in Africa. The first round is going to be difficult as Argentina and the Netherlands both have formidable teams. Serbia is very good as well. But I think we'll get through to the next round, even if we don't get to the final.

I predict that there will be a big surprise in the World Cup, and that the Ivory Coast will win!!!!
