Favourite player: Juan Roman Riquelme
World Cup prediction: Brazil has a really good team with great players. I think Argentina and France are the countries that might take the cup away from Ronaldinho's hands.
Argentina 2-4 Germany on penalties: Friday, 30 June
The match between Argentina and Germany was not reflected in the result.
Argentina dominated the match, although I don't think the referee was fair to us.
I think Germany did not deserve to win this match. Their best players were clearly stopped by our defenders, Roberto Ayala and Gabriel Heinze.
Argentina played in a great level, but we could not reach the goal line because when we were creating a dangerous situation for Germany the referee Lubos Michel blew the whistle and it was always against us.
The match finished with penalty kicks and Germany played these penalties better than Argentina.
I think Roberto Abbondanzieri, one of the best goalkeepers in the World Cup, was injured in a huge foul inside the area which the referee did not notice.
Now, every Argentine person must be very proud of the work our team did.
Although we could not reach the semis, we know we are one of the best teams in the world and we are now waiting for next World Cup in South Africa to show that we can be champions.
Good luck to every football fan all over the world.
WELL DONE ARGENTINA, CONGRATULATIONS!
Argentina 2-1 Mexico: Saturday, 24 June
The match was really a good one. Both teams tried to score at the beginning and both did it.
Mexico started the match in a very intense way, and Argentina couldn't have the ball until the sixth minute, when Mexico's defender, Rafa Marquez, scored.
We went for our goal, and we met it four minutes later, when Crespo connected the corner kicked by Riquelme.
The rest of the first half was not what we expected, with both teams looking for the goal.
The second half started with Argentina having the ball most of the time, we searched for a goal that would get us one step closer to quarter-finals.
Although Argentina played better than Mexico, we couldn't get to the goal. The 90 minutes ended 1-1, and the match needed to go to exta time.
Eight minutes after the first extra time started, Sorin sent the ball to the right side, Maxi Rodriguez stopped the ball and kicked it into Mexico¿s goal. IT WAS A SPLENDID GOAL!
The first half ended 2-1, and the second half was controlled by Argentina. The final result was 2-1.
I watched the game at a friend's house. We were really nervous for the short time that we were losing the match. We ended shouting and singing with Maxi's goal.
On Friday we are playing against the host nation, Germany. We know the match will not be easy, but we know what we are able to achieve.
COME ON ARGENTINA, WE ARE DOING FINE!
Argentina 0-0 Holland: Wednesday, 21 June
This match was really to finish the first round, and neither team really had a good chance to score.
Pekerman used this match to give time to the rest of the squad who hadn't played yet.
Nicolas Burdisso had to get off because of injury, so he was replaced by Fabricio Coloccini.
Both of our midfielders, Cambiasso and Mascherano, had a yellow card, which means both players need to take care of their attitudes in the next matches so that they are not suspended.
Now we are through to the next round. We will be playing against Mexico on Saturday. Matches from now on are decisive and there is no room for mistakes.
GO ON ARGENTINA, WE ARE DOING WELL!
Argentina 6-0 Serbia & Montenegro: Friday, 16 June
Argentina-Serbia & Montenegro's match was a very exciting one. I watched
the match with my friends; we were amazed with the team's performance.
The match result was 6-0, goals scored by: Maxi Rodriguez - twice, Cambiasso, Crespo, Tevez and Messi. The whole team played very well. Riquelme was selected as the match's best player.
Together with Abbondanzieri, Saviola, and the little time Tevez played, this increased the expectations of every person in the country regarding the World Cup.
Mateja Kezman (Serbia & Montenegro's player) was sent off the field before
time for a very aggressive foul to Mascherano. Lucho Gonzales had to
abandon the match before its end because he was injured.
The referee didn't consider a goal scored by Crespo in the first half. He
thought the Argentine player was offside, when he wasn't.
People in Argentina were asking for our little hope named Lionel Messi. When
everyone thought Pekerman was not going to send him on the field, he did,
and everyone stood up and clapped for Jose's right decision.
Lio helped in Crespo's goal, and ended the account for Argentina by scoring goal number six.
Now we are almost in the second round of the World Cup and people are
waiting for our next match against Holland.
I hope the performance shown in this match is repeated.
Argentina 2-1 Ivory Coast: Saturday, 10 June
The match between Argentina and the Ivory Coast was really tense. The goals scored by Crespo and Saviola created a great atmosphere in every corner of the country.
I watched the match in my house with my school friends. The referee disallowed a goal scored by Ayala at the beginning of the match.
We were very excited by the great performance of the Argentinian squad, especially with Riquelme, Ayala and goalkeeper Abbondanzieri - who was man of the match, according to the Argentinian press.
The most tense moment was the build-up to Crespo's goal. At the beginning, I thought it would not cross the line. When it did, we all started shouting and singing different songs encouraging our national team.
I don't believe that the match result was fair because the referee did not consider Argentina's first goal. But Argentina won and could show to the world the marvellous team Jose Pekerman prepared.
WELL DONE ARGENTINA! CONGRATULATIONS!
Tournament preview
What's the atmosphere like in Argentina?
Argentina is having a really exciting month. Everywhere you go, you hear people talking about football or the upcoming World Cup. People are waiting for the moment in which the ball will start running through the field and the players apply everything they know and have for their country.
Argentines know that we have a great opportunity to return to Argentina with the Cup, but we also need to understand that the teams participating in the World Cup are quite difficult to defeat.
