Steed Malbranque's goal was enough to give Fulham a 1-0 win over Wigan on Monday, moving them up two places to 14th in the Premier League.
Wigan dominated the match but Malbranque scored against the run of play in first-half injury time at Fulham's Craven Cottage stadium.
The win ensures that Fulham will be playing Premership footie next season.
But many of their fans were not impressed by the performance, booing the team as they left the pitch.
Fulham goalie Antti Niemi put on a fine show, making good saves from Gary Teale and Jimmy Bullard.
Wigan searched for an equaliser, with David Connolly missing an open goal late on.
