Actress Katie Holmes has given birth to a baby girl with fiance Tom Cruise.
The actress had the child named Suri in Los Angeles on Tuesday and a spokesperson for the couple said they have "joyously welcomed" their baby.
The baby is Holmes's first, while Cruise has two adopted children from his marriage to Nicole Kidman.
Suri weighed in at 3.4 kg (7lb 7 oz) and was 50.8 cm long. Her name means Princess or Red Rose, depending on which language you translate it into.
Hollywood actor Cruise and Batman Begins star Holmes dated for two months before becoming engaged in June 2005.
Cruise says they plan to marry in late summer or early autumn this year.
