Who has got nuclear weapons?

This is a list of countries which have successfully carried out test-explosions of nuclear weapons.

The date is the year of their first test:

USA 1945 (The USA also used two A-bombs on Japan in during WW II)

USSR 1949 (Their weapons have now passed to Russia)

UK 1952

France 1960

China 1964

India 1974

Pakistan 1998

Below is a list of countries suspected of having nuclear weapons:

Israel. The Israeli government has never officially confirmed or denied that Israel has nuclear weapons. It has not openly tested any weapons but is widely believed to have them.

North Korea. In 2005, North Korea told the world it had nuclear weapons. In October 2006 they claimed to have tested the weapons.
