Simpsons film confirmed for 2007

Fans of The Simpsons will be delighted to hear that the movie based on the series will hit the big screen in 2007.

Homer, Bart, Marge and co will be seen turning cinemas yellow in July 2007, according to Twentieth Century Fox.

A trailer for the film is being shown at US screenings of Ice Age: The Meltdown, promising to introduce "the greatest hero in American history".

It then cuts to Homer Simpson wearing only his underwear admitting: "I forgot what to say."

The film will be released in the US before being shown to the rest of the world.

The Simpsons is the longest-running prime-time entertainment series on television in the US.

It's currently in its 17th season and US network Fox has confirmed it has asked for another two seasons at least.
