What is Australian Rules Football?

Australian Rules Football, or Aussie rules, is a fast moving game played with an oval ball on an oval pitch, between two teams of 18 players.

It takes place on an outdoor pitch which is 185m long, with four posts at either end.

There are no official positions on the field, and players can start the game wherever they like on the pitch.

Even though it can be quite a rough sport, players don't wear protective clothing.
