Sneak peek at Aardman's new film

Aardman's Flushed Away
The makers of Wallace and Gromit have released the first images from their new film, called Flushed Away.

Aardman Animation have replaced their usual clay characters with 3D computerised images in their latest work, which is about a posh rat.

The effect was achieved by moulding the characters in clay first, before recreating them as computerised images.

Hugh Jackman, who played Wolverine in X-Men, and Kate Winslet are amongst those to provide voices for the film.

Other actors who give their voices to the characters are King Kong star Andy Serkis and former EastEnders actor Shane Richie.

A spokesperson for Aardman said they would continue to use modelling clay animation for Wallace and Gromit films but that computer animation was "a natural progression for the studio."

They also needed to use this type of animation to provide water scenes for the rats in the sewers which "is almost impossible using traditional 3-D animation."
