In Pictures: US snow storms

Winter storms caused problems after record amounts of snow fell along the north east coast of the US.

Many people woke up to wintry scenes - it's thought about 22 inches of snow fell over the area.

New York suffered the worst blizzard since 1869 so some people decided to get around town using skis!

More than 200,000 people were left without power from Virginia to Massachusetts, according to power companies.

In Washington DC the White House blended into the background of snow.

But the heavy snow also meant that it was time to have some fun!
