Climate change worse than thought

Greenland ice caps
The impact of global warming could be more serious than previously thought, according to a scientific report.

There are fears that a huge ice sheet in Greenland could melt causing sea levels to rise by seven metres over the next 1,000 years.

The report also suggests there's not much chance we'll be able to keep the amount of heat making greenhouse gases given out below "dangerous" levels.

Poorer countries will be most effected by the impact of climate change.

The report, called "Avoiding dangerous climate change", suggests low lying places like Florida and Bangladesh could be at risk of flooding if sea levels rise as expected.
