Nintendo reveal plans for DS Lite

A picture of what the DE Lite will look like
Nintendo have announced they will launch a new smaller, thinner version of their hand-held console Nintendo DS.

The gadget will be two thirds of the size of the current one, and its dual screen will be 20% lighter to look at.

The console, which will be called Nintendo DS Lite, will be in shops in Japan in March. No date has been announced for a UK release.

The Nintendo DS went on sale in the UK in March, and more than 14.4 million have been sold around the world so far.

The gaming company says they plan to carry on making Nintendo DS for those who want to stick with the chunkier version.
