French bird flu test is negative

Duck in Turkey
A woman in France who was tested for possible bird flu after returning from Turkey does not have the deadly virus.

The woman's symptoms were similar to those shown by people with the virus and she had seen dead birds in Turkey.

She had two sets of tests and both came back negative. Turkey recently had 20 confirmed cases of bird flu and four people, including children, died.

Experts say bird flu will only spread rapidly if it's passed from human to human but this has not yet happened.

A Belgian cameraman who recently returned from eastern Turkey with flu-like symptoms also tested negative for the virus.
