Becks launches US footie academy

Becks
England footie star David Beckham has launched his latest academy for kids - and this one's in the US.

The David Beckham Academy for eight to 15-year-olds will open in Carson, Los Angeles, in the autumn. It follows a similar project in his native London.

"It's about kids coming down, getting off the streets and having fun. If we find great, new talent, then that's good," said the Real Madrid player.

Becks was in the US following England's mini-tour of the country.

Having already gone from Man United to Spain, the midfielder said he hadn't ruled out a move to the US in the future.

"That's something I did say I would consider. Things happen and situations and, you know, playing in America does interest me a lot," said the 30-year-old.
