French PM resigns after EU vote

Jean-Pierre Raffarin
French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin has resigned after the public voted against a new European Union constitution on Sunday.

Almost 55% of people voted against the planned changes in the public vote.

It's important as the changes to the EU cannot happen unless all 25 countries agree to them.

President Jacques Chirac is expected to name the replacement PM on Tuesday. He promised to make changes to the government after the vote result.
