Lessons in my lounge!

Most of you go to school but thousands of you don't - you're taught at home by your parents.

Press Packer Amy gets taught at home and in her report she tells us what she enjoys about it.

"Not many people know that there is an alternative to school - home education.

When I left primary school, I left school.

I think home ed is great because I get to do surfing lessons with my dad.

I still learn normal stuff like English, maths and science.

I also learn music, dance and drama and in the summer I go to a lifeguard club.

Own pace

The best part of home school is choosing what lessons I do from day to day.

Instead of lots of pressure to do everything, I can learn at my own pace.

The Internet is a very useful tool.

For example, if we go fossil hunting I can look up the fossils we find.

Learning together

I also like art and painting and the computer can create some great images.

My favourite thing to do is reading. I love it, I've got lots of books

And you can learn a lot of things from them.

My favourite lesson is ICT which I had to teach my parents at first and now it is fun learning together."

Amy, 10, Isle of Wight

Why don't you write us a Press Pack report - and get it published on the site?!

It can be about anything that's happened in your local area - or your views on the news.
