Dogs killed by kids on mini bikes

Two dogs have been killed after being hit by young children who were riding mini motorbikes on Christmas Day.

The dogs were being walked by their owner in fields in Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire. There were lots of children riding the bikes at the time.

A vet said they thought the dogs had been hit by a motorcycle or vehicle.

"As there were no other cars nearby, we believe that the dogs were both killed by mini motos being ridden by very young children," a policeman said.

"I would remind all parents that these mini motos are completely unlawful for use on land to which the public have access," he added.

This comes just a week after police warned children not to ride miniature motorbikes in public places because it's dangerous and illegal.

It's against the law for people to use them anywhere other than on private land such as specially built tracks.
