Life after being locked up

Feltham Young Offenders Institution
Getting by after being locked up can be difficult for kids.

Some children have to wear an electronic tag, so people know where they are.

Many have to report to a Youth Offending Team to make sure they're on the straight and narrow.

But there are other difficulties. Around six out of 10 children go on to commit another crime within a year of being released.

Lots of children have trouble because they have a bad reputation when they get back home, and find it hard to fit in.
