New animal species in Borneo

Scientists in Borneo found what they thought might be a brand new species of animal. The creature - which appeared to be half-cat half-fox - was caught on camera but is still being tracked down so that it can be properly examined.

Manchester United's run of bad luck continued when they got kicked out of the Champions League after losing against Benfica and also failed to qualify for UEFA.

Mariah Carey, Green Day and 50 Cent all walked from America's Billboard Awards with armfuls of awards.

The first in the series of Narnia films, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, premiered at the Royal Albert Hall and even Prince Charles and his wife Camilla turned up for the show!

King Kong and actors

And King Kong, another long-awaited high budget film, premiered in London and New York. A huge statue of the famous gorilla was set up in Times Square to mark the launch of the film.

Fire at fuel depot in Hemel Hempstead

A massive fire broke out after explosions at a huge fuel depot in Hemel Hempstead. The explosions were so big that the sound was reported to have been heard as far away as Holland, and a huge black cloud floated across the south of England for days after.

Hollywood sign

The famous Hollywood sign in the hills was given its first lick of paint for 10 years.
