Disney is marking the 50th anniversary of its first theme park with months of celebrations and new attractions.
The first Disneyland opened in Los Angeles on 17 July 1955, and started the company's worldwide chain of parks.
Celebrations include a parade of celebs and new interactive attractions aimed at today's tech-savvy kids.
"In honour of the park that started it all, every Disney resort will join in creating more great memories for our guests," a spokesman said.
Stars at the first parade, which took place on Wednesday, included Christina Aguilera, actor Tim Allen, actress Teri Hatcher and musical star Dame Julie Andrews.
Since the first park opened, more than 500 million visitors have been there.
There were just 16 attractions at first, but now there are more than 60 on the 85-acre site.
