What is skateboarding?

To skateboard you ride along on a board with wheels performing tricks.

Skateboarding was first developed as a way of surfing on land.

The first types of skateboards were roller-skates hammered on to planks of wood.

Street skating involves riding rails, jumping steps and doing tricks on the ground.

Going to a skate park means you get to ride up and down a bowl-shaped ramp, doing tricks in the air.
