Pot-bellied pig goes on the run

Pot-bellied pig
A Vietnamese pot-bellied pig has been spotted running free in Somerset.

The creature described by passing walkers as a "large black pig" was first seen near woodland in Minehead three weeks ago.

Since then all attempts to catch the animal have failed despite the fact that he has been spotted many times.

The RSPCA can't work out where the pig's come from and are appealing for its owners to come forward so they know what to do when, or if, they catch it.

Some people keep pot-bellied pigs as pets and despite their reputation they're said to be very clean and friendly.

No-one knows whether the pig in Somerset has escaped from a nearby home or whether he has been abandoned.

Help

All that is known is that he has a tag in his ear and is not dangerous.

The RSPCA is appealing for help so that this little piggy can get home.
