His 17-year-old cousin Michael Barton, who supplied the murder weapon, was sentenced to 17 years and eight months.
Anthony was attacked with an axe in a Merseyside park in what the judge described as a racist attack. He later died in hospital.
Anthony Walker was attacked while escorting his girlfriend, 17-year-old Louise Thompson, to a bus stop in the Huyton area of Merseyside, Liverpool.
A group of boys is said to have set on Walker, calling him racist names, but he tried to walk away.
