Star Wars event attracts 30,000

The Stormtrooper Olympics at Celebration III
More than 30,000 Star Wars fans from all over the world are in Indianapolis, USA for a massive convention.

The star attraction of the four-day event is an appearance from Star Wars creator George Lucas, who is speaking to the fans on Saturday.

It's the largest official convention ever and features a Stormtrooper Olympics and a special droid race.

Fans from Mexico, Japan and Europe have flown to the US to go Celebration III, according to a Lucasfilm spokesman.

One fan, Marc Lorch of Stuttgart, Germany, went all the way to the US with a stormtrooper costume to wear when he was there.

As well as Lucas' appearance, Hayden Chrstensen is dropping in using a video from Italy, and lots of other Lucasfilm staff will be there too.

Some lucky fans will even get to see clips from Episode III, a month before Revenge of the Sith hits cinemas.
