Sniffer dogs came to my school

Emily

Emily's school was part of a study to see how well sniffer dogs worked at finding drugs on pupils.

She tells us about what it was like with the dogs checking her classrooms.

"When we heard there would be sniffer dogs coming to school, some people were nervous, but it didn't bother me too much.

We didn't know what day they were coming, so it was a surprise to see dogs waiting on the school gates.

There was a special assembly, where one of our teachers had drugs planted on them.

One of the dogs sniffed them out, and we saw that there was nothing to worry about - it just jumped up a bit and got excited.

The dogs also came into our lessons to search for drugs, which was pretty cool.

I think people don't have anything to worry about unless they're carrying drugs.

The dogs are a good way to stop drugs coming into school."
