Press Packer Lauren went to London's first Children's Film Festival where she watched a film about children learning to ballroom dance.
In her report she not only talks about the film, but about the great experience she had learning some dance moves from the professionals.
"At the London Children's Film Festival I had an amazing dancing experience.
To coincide with the release of the film Mad Hot Ballroom, the festival had Anton du Beke and Erin Boag from Strictly Come Dancing give a dance workshop before we saw the film.
Concentration
The dance lesson was really fun and Anton and Erin were both very friendly and nice - and it was great to see them in real life!
We were taught some basics steps for the cha cha, foxtrot and other ballroom dances.
It wasn't a really strict lesson, we took it slowly. But I did concentrate as I was interested in learning the steps.
Keep fit
I love dancing, just usually at parties with my friends.
But now I think I would like to have proper lessons as I really enjoyed the workshop.
And it's a great way to keep fit and have fun at the same time.
After the workshop I watched the film Mad Hot Ballroom.
Passionate
It's a documentary about schoolchildren in New York involved in a dance competition where they perform dances such as the tango, rumba and swing.
You follow the schools through the competition and as they gradually get eliminated.
There are also interviews with the children where you find out a bit more about their lives. They seemed really sweet and passionate about ballroom dancing.
Back on track
The film then focuses on one particular school and even though I was only watching them on film, I felt I got to know the kids really well and got quite attached to them.
It was interesting to see how committed the kids were to dancing and even though some of them had come from difficult backgrounds, it showed how dancing got them back on track.
They also didn't try to hide the fact that they loved ballroom dancing - in fact they made it look cool!
See it again
I really loved this film. My friends didn't believe me when I told them.
But I'm going to take them to see it (and I want to see it again!)
Then they'll be able to see for themselves what a great film this is."
