Madonna celebrates chart double

Madonna has managed a double chart victory by taking the top spot in both the single and album charts.

The singer held onto the singles top spot with Hung Up for the second week, and Confessions On A Dance Floor went straight to the top of the album chart.

Westlife saw off competition from Black Eyed Peas' My Humps, in at three, and Biology by Girls Aloud at number four.

Will Young's Switch It On went in at five, and Children in Need song A Night to Remember by Liberty X was at six.

Ex-Blue singer Simon Webbe slipped from four to seven with No Worries.

The Darkness return

But it was good news for The Darkness who are back in the charts with One Way Ticket at eight.

Former number one Arctic Monkeys fell to nine with Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor.

And the White Stripes were in at number ten with new single The Denial Twist.
