In pictures: A look at Narnia

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe hits cinemas in December. This is the lion - the wise and majestic Aslan.

This is the witch, Jadis - the evil White Witch who rules over Narnia with a reign of terror and makes it winter forever - but never Christmas.

And this is the wardrobe from which the magical world of Narnia can be reached.

Lucy discovers the wardrobe while playing hide and seek with her brothers and sister. This is the moment she sets eyes on Mr Tumnus...

Mr Tumnus is a faun (half-man, half-goat) who risks capture by the White Witch's secret police for befriending Lucy.

When Lucy tells her brothers and sister about Narnia they don't believe her. Edmund follows after her the next time she visits and sees it for himself.
