Treading the boards in a West End musical is something a lot of aspiring young actors dream about.
Press Packer Sam had a chance to fulfil his dreams when he auditioned for a part in Mary Poppins the Musical.
He tells us how he got on in his report.
"I have been doing acting, singing and dancing for over five years now.
Earlier this year I went to see Mary Poppins The Musical.
It was a great day and I loved every bit of it. I said to my mum: 'How do they get that opportunity to do that?''. She replied: ''You have to get an audition!''.
Dream come true
The show is full of colourful characters
My dad came home one day and showed me a page in our local newspaper. It said 'Michael Banks needed'. He's the boy character in the story Mary Poppins.
I couldn't believe it! Just two weeks after watching the production on stage they were holding auditions for my perfect role. My dreams had come true!
A magnificent opportunity like this only comes along once in a blue moon, so in a dash I filled out the application form and sent it by e-mail.
Within a week a letter arrived from the producer of the musical saying they would like me to come for an audition.
I couldn't stop jumping up and down. I told all my friends that I had an audition for Mary Poppins.
When the fantastic day came I had to wait for about an hour before they called me.
Better luck next time
I went in with a group of kids and we had to sing 'Let's Go Fly a Kite', act like Michael Banks and pretend we were flying a kite.
They asked two boys to stay but they told the rest that there wasn't a place for us.
I felt a little bit upset, but I still think that one day I will be in the West End."
