Gorilla 'Big Brother' hits screen

A new series of Big Brother has hit the Czech Republic but this time the contestants aren't humans - they're gorillas from Prague Zoo.

Sixteen cameras have been set up in a pavilion housing four of the creatures - adults Richard, Kijivu and Shinda plus baby Moja, who was born last year.

Fans - who can track the gorillas' movements 24 hours a day on the internet - are voting for their fave.

The winner is getting 12 melons instead of money as gorillas love the fruit.

It's hoped the programme will help people learn more about gorillas, with interviews with scientists and other experts also being broadcast.

The contestants will also be helping their fellow creatures as cash raised from the show will be donated to gorilla projects in the wild.
