CBBC Newsround got in touch with the main political parties to ask them their views on some of the General Election big issues. Here's what the SDLP had to say:
Schools
Campaign for an end to the 11+ and academic selection for secondary education.
Continue to campaign for the introduction of all-ability secondary education system.
Support initiatives that will prevent bullying.
Health/Sport
Support initiatives such as Healthy Start (which provides primary school pupils with fruit).
Improve the provision of nutritional food in schools.
Two-hour weekly minimum allocation for physical exercise in schools and investment in community sport.
Crime
Get the maximum number of officers out from behind their desks and on to the streets.
Review of police stations and assets to ensure best use of resources.
Make policing accessible to the community.
Tackle anti-social behaviour.
Reduce car crime and ensure enforcement of legislation on licensees against under-age drinking.
Fun
Develop and expand leisure opportunities for young people.
Improve leisure and sporting facilities to tackle social exclusion, crime and under-achievement in disadvantaged communities.
