Empire Award win for Freddie, 12

Freddie Highmore with his Best Newcomer Award
Finding Neverland actor Freddie Highmore was named Best Newcomer at the Empire Awards, at just 12 years old.

He said: "It's really special because I'm a child so I didn't expect to win. It's really fantastic to be here and I think I'm really lucky.

"I think the award will go in a special place in my bedroom," he added.

Another big winner at the awards, voted for by readers of the movie magazine, was The Bourne Supremacy which won Best Actor for Matt Damon and Best Film.

More than 12,000 Empire readers voted for their fave films, and chose Sam Raimi as their top director for Spider-Man 2.

One of the special awards, for Inspiration, was won by Hollywood film studio Pixar whose movies include The Incredibles, Finding Nemo and both Toy Story films.
